We used colour, with restraint, to emphasize level numbers and block names on the directories. The directories also included user-oriented site maps to help basic orientation; visitors were directed to the nearest reception desk for a leaflet version of this map.
The sign construction was a large-scale version of that used for temporary lift signs we also designed for the Hospital. The inserts can be reprinted relatively cheaply, and are easily installed by the hospital.
