One Parent Families (OPF) are the best known British charity providing support for lone parents. They wanted to turn their existing bulky folder of advice into a proper publication that was portable and easy to use. This meant it had to provide users (generally those advising lone parents) with the quickest access to the information they needed.
OPF also wanted to provide the information on-line and on CD-ROM, giving the convenience of rapid searches and ease of deployment in large organisations.
The handbook needed to be easy to read and accessible, so the design had to be simple, clean and aid navigation.
We created the elements OPF need to produce an annual printed handbook edition from author's copy and provided guidance and training to staff which enabled them to work in a structured publishing environment.
