52-page A4 report and 4-page A5 leaflet for two-year charity project

What was needed

Heritage Link, a charity working in the voluntary heritage sector, asked us to help produce an A4 report and A5 leaflet for their newly-completed two-year Diversity Programme.

The report was aimed at a wide range of readers, including funders, community groups, regional and national heritage sector groups. It had to be interesting to look at, with a strong design style, and user-friendly for the visually impaired.

What we did

We read the report and drafted designs based on the intended audience and the overall tone of the report. After client discussions, we refined the design, redrew diagrams and applied an image treatment that would allow us to use relatively low resolution images.

The 52-page A4 report included photos, numerous relatively-short quotes, case studies and diagrams. We created a press-ready pdf for future professional printing and a web-friendly pdf of the report for electronic distribution.

We later designed a summary 4-page A5 leaflet based on the report to promote the Heritage Link Diversity Programme’s website.
