We proposed and advised on site structure, edited complex or lengthy pieces of information, and used a clean layout broken up with headings and sub headings to present text in a digestible and un-intimidating format.
We used Plone to create a site with an easy-to-use content management system which allowed pages to be added, deleted or redrafted and then published.
We used colour, typography and image treatment to create a clean, modern look for the site. The site is simply and logically structured, and information clearly signposted, to make it easy for visitors to find what they are looking for.
We built in a course search facility that is easy to use and which presents course information clearly.
As well as making this a pleasant experience for site visitors, clear and unambiguous information will cut down on enquires to busy college administration staff.
We provided training and a user guide so that selected college staff would be able to maintain the content of the site themselves. Simple news and events ‘tools’ also allow them to keep the site up to date with the latest college developments.
The College had a tight timescale and we built and populated the new site, complete with course database links, within three months, ready for the start of the Autumn term.
We are currently looking at ways to enhance the website’s content management system so that college administration staff can use it as an interface to easily update course information. [visit the website]
