Website redesign and build

Tasks included

What was needed

Abingdon & Witney College felt that their website looked dated and needed to be better at drawing in the different types of visitor, as well as providing easy access to the information they needed. The website also had to link to the course information stored on the college database and display search results clearly.

Our client said

"We approached Text Matters to design and build a new content-managed website -- with extensive course search facility and multiple editable pages holding College information. From our intial meeting with Mark and Tess we knew we were in safe hands.

They came up with a terrific homepage design (incorporating our new branding), and including all the key elements asked for to attract our key audiences, and built a thorough navigation system to sit behind it.

The look and feel of the site is exactly what we required and is as easy to edit as they promised it would be. The handover period went very smoothly, although we did take them up on their 'unofficial' helpline a few times. All this in under twelve weeks and on budget!"

Our approach

We discussed the audience and content of the site with our clients before drafting several design approaches for the site. We worked on design that would appeal to a sophisticated and choosy young student audience, but which would not alienate employers and adult students, and which would be in line with current accessibility guidelines.
