What was needed

The University of Exeter needed new maps for their three campuses. These maps needed to be easy to use and have a clear layout that reinforced the University’s brand values.

The project had three main stages; stage 1 was to create five small-scale maps [read the project report]. In stage 2 we designed three more maps to add to the family, and in stage 3 we designed large-scale versions of the campus maps [read the project report].

The University needed three new maps for use on their website and in print publications. They were to be part of the family of maps we had already created for their campuses.

Our approach

As with the previous five maps, we redrew maps based (where possible) on updated files provided by the University. The three maps required were:

We created draft designs to discuss with our client before supplying final artwork for each map as a layered Adobe Illustrator eps file.
